HIGHFIELDS PARK LAKE : UNIVERSITY BOULEVARD NOTTINGHAM
Sailing Sunday mornings from 9:15 till noon. Entrance is gained by using the gate at the West (Beeston) End of the Lake (beware crossing the cycle path) and by driving into the Park following the road round until you take the first turning on the right down a gravel track alongside the Lake. Driving along the tree lined avenue for about 100 yards you then pull over onto the grassy apron on the right hand side of the trees where NMBC members are allowed to park.
COLWICK PARK LAKE : MILE END ROAD, COLWICK, NOTTINGHAM, NG4 2DW
NMBC members may sail all days and times when the park is open. The Lake is accessed by driving down Mile End Road for approximately 75 yards whereupon you will see a sign for Colwick Country Park, turn right into River Road and proceed to the Wardens Office and pull up to the electrically operated barrier arm in front of it. Members will have to show a current Membership Card in order to be let through by the Park Warden who is on duty at the time of your visit. Once you enter through the barrier you should follow the road right the way around the perimeter of the Lake until you reach a distant toilet block and office complex where you will see a fork in the road ahead. Take the right hand road at this fork and proceed along the road for a further 500 to 750 yards passing the marina on your left hand side. As you pass the Marina and moorings look for the next turning on your right between the trees (see picture right) in the wooded section that leads to a large gravelled area and car park. The lake can then be accessed through the walkway and entrance in the hedge surrounding the lake.
